Who better to host this program of other-worldly music than actor Christopher Lloyd? He mastered both time and space as Doc Brown in the Back to the Future movies—and each of these selections has a memorable movie connection.
We’ll hear the all-important Star Trek medley and other blockbuster hits by Hollywood master John Williams, as well as Holst’s audience favorite The Planets (which influenced many film composers, including Williams) and both Strausses' stellar contributions to 2001. And Clair de lune? Fun fact: it was cut from the original Fantasia, but the haunting short film survives online. All this and mind-blowing NASA images; boldly go to Orchestra Hall!
Classical, Orchestral, American Orchestra, Orchestra, Female Vocal, and Symphony Orchestra.
