Just because traditional concerts are all cancelled or postponed, that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little (or a lot) of live music in our lives. Just last week, Pittsburgh hardcore band Code Orange streamed their record release show. Instead of completely cancelling the show, the band played to an empty venue.
While not every artist will be able to put together an event with so much production value, there are plenty of artists who have announced upcoming livestreams to make sure we can all keep live music in our lives.
Alone Together Fest
Alone Together Fest was put together by Common Grounds Collective (LA), and will take place this weekend (March 21-22). The event features 26 artists, including Future Teens, Sunsleeper, Kayak Jones, Pronoun, and more! The event will start at 3pm EST/12pm PST, check out the full lineup below:
LuigiTV
Missing the traditional gig set up with a few bands playing each evening? Check out LuigiTV, set up by the DIY venue Luigi’s Mansion PHL. They’re currently setting up live shows on their Instagram account where each band streams live from their own home.
The first digital show announced is Saturday, March 21 featuring Equipment (Ohio), Hospital Bracelet (Chicago), Harmony Woods (Philly), and Two Thumbs Down (DC).
The second show will be announced at the end of the first show, but I can promise you personally that the lineup is also fantastic!

HOPtv
Also out of Philly, Home Outgrown Presents is bringing you HOPtv. Participating artists have not yet been announced, but the first event will take place on Sunday, March 22 on Home Outgrown’s Instagram. The event kicks off at 3pm EST.

Anti-Flag
Today (March 20) at 12 pm PST/ 3pm EST, Justin Sane from Anti-Flag will be going live on the band’s Facebook page. Check out the announcement below, and ‘like’ the band on Facebook so you can easily find the stream.
LP
Also today at 1pm PST / 4pm EST, singer-songwriter LP will be livestreaming on Facebook, Instagram, Twitch, and YouTube.
If you’re not familiar with LP, she’s written songs for numerous artists, including Rihanna, Cher, the Backstreet Boys, and Celine Dion, before launching a singing career of her own. I got to catch her at a free show back in 2017, and have been listening ever since.
Taking Back Sunday
At 2 pm EST on Sunday (3/22), Taking Back Sunday’s Adam Lazzara and John Nolan will be performing some songs acoustically on Instagram Live.

Ben Gibbard (of Death Cab for Cutie, Postal Service)
In many of the coming days, Ben Gibbard will be streaming live from his home. He’ll be taking requests, and also feature some special guests! The stream will start each day at 4pm PST/7pm EST, and each day will benefit a different organization. You can tune into the stream, as well as view the organization of the day on the event’s link page.

These are only a few of the upcoming events, and it’s likely more will continue to be announced. If there’s any artists you’d like to see live online, let them know!
You can also set up live notifications on Instagram and Twitter, in case they decide on an impromptu live session (they’re probably quite bored as well). NPR is also maintaining a list of music events in all genres, check it out!
Since all these streams are free, consider buying merch from the bands if you can, or donating/tipping if the band provides links to do so. This is a tough time for artists, especially those who had to cancel tours, so please consider supporting them if you’re able to.
It’s also worth mentioning that today, March 20, bandcamp is waiving their revenue share on sales through their site. If there’s any artists you’d like to support through bandcamp, today is the best day to do so!

Want to add a stream to your Concert Archives account? You can add it just like any other show! For the ‘Location’, just put ‘Livestream’ and for the ‘Venue’, you can leave it blank or put the location where the artist is performing.
