We&#8217;ve already discussed some of these, but there&#8217;s a few things that we haven&#8217;t mentioned and a few cool projects in the works.<\/p>\n<h3>What We&#8217;ve Already Discussed<\/h3>\n<p>We released the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.concertarchives.org\/backstagepass\/new-feature-for-historians-compare-concerts-and-report-errors\/\">Compare Concerts tool for Historians<\/a> which allow our Historians to better compare duplicate concerts and report them to us so that we can get them merged together. This is a major step forward in our continuing &#8220;Big Clean&#8221; project to clean up duplicate pages and standardize data across the platform.<\/p>\n<p>We also discussed the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.concertarchives.org\/backstagepass\/new-database-guidelines-for-locations-and-bands\/\">Database Guidelines<\/a> for multiple bands with the same name and Crown Dependencies within the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<h3>A Few Other Updates<\/h3>\n<p>In addition to these larger projects, here&#8217;s another batch of updates that we&#8217;ve made to the website and app recently.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We created a new &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.concertarchives.org\/media-requests\">Media Requests &amp; Usage<\/a>&#8216; page on the website to better explain the usage rights of photos &amp; videos on Concert Archives and to help journalists and other media professionals request content from our community.<\/li>\n<li>We no longer automatically capitalize user names as it can cause issues with certain names (particularly names with special characters, capitalization, and spacing).<\/li>\n<li>We added the concert creation date to the &#8216;Edit History&#8217; log on the web.<\/li>\n<li>We made more improvements to our background processes for finding and merging duplicate bands, venues, and locations.<\/li>\n<li>We changed our infrastructure for running background processes for updating and cleaning data to be more reliable and efficient.<\/li>\n<li>Plus several minor bug fixes and improvements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Future Projects and Things To Look Forward To<\/h3>\n<p>We&#8217;re currently working hard on transitioning the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.concertarchives.org\/backstagepass\/gigit-is-joining-concert-archives\/\">Gigit<\/a> users and data over to Concert Archives and hope to have that complete in the next week or two.<\/p>\n<p>Another thing we&#8217;ve been working on is how we display the attendees on concert pages. We haven&#8217;t updated that in forever and it currently just shows a random list of attendees. We&#8217;re upgrading that to better highlight your friends, followers, and Patrons! We think you&#8217;ll like it \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<p>And, of course, we&#8217;re getting the final pieces put in place for Saturday&#8217;s first ever <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/posts\/126144018\/\">Patron Live Chat<\/a>.
