This week we&#8217;re amplifying some of our favorite current Black artists that we think you should check out. Let&#8217;s go! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fever 333<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"FEVER 333 - LONG LIVE THE INNOCENT [LIVE DEMONSTRATION]\" width=\"1032\" height=\"581\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ap6KZo4YOvY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I checked out Fever 333 after hearing Jason Aalon Butler (ex-letlive.) talk on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mgekmBGt4E8\">Emo Nite\u2019s June 8th panel on Racism in the Punk\/Alternative Scene<\/a>. On June 3, the band did a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fever333.com\/longlivetheinnocent\/\">livestream<\/a> to benefit <a href=\"https:\/\/smarturl.it\/BLMDonate\">Black Lives Matter<\/a> &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/minnesotafreedomfund.org\/\">Minnesota Freedom Fund<\/a> and just last week, they dropped the single \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/3jRU05vwdrJadvMgH8aIAv?si=sDOqrdrYSjmErCALvvxXGw\">Supremacy<\/a>.\u201d&nbsp;Despite only being around since 2017, Fever 333 have already released two albums (<em>Made An America <\/em>(2018) and <em>Strength in Numb333rs <\/em>(2019)).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They had many festival appearances scheduled across Europe this summer but all of them are unfortunately cancelled\/postponed due to coronavirus. In the past, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.concertarchives.org\/bands\/fever-333?page=1#concert-table\">band<\/a> has played festivals in the US and abroad, and has toured with bands such as Bring Me the Horizon, Thrice, The Used, Korn, Alice in Chains, and Underoath. So far, the band has two EPs and two 2020 singles available for streaming.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The band has members from Florida, Georgia, and New Jersey, and has played shows up and down the East Coast, and some in the Midwest. This self-described emo mathcore band has recently signed to Equal Vision Records, and has shared the stage with bands such as Between The Buried and Me, Code Orange, and Knocked Loose. While they\u2019ve only just begun getting the attention they deserve with the release of their third EP \u201cWhy Did You Do It?,\u201d I can confirm they\u2019ve always been this good. They quickly released their first two EPs \u201cCat &amp; Mouse\u201d and \u201cDevil Fruit,&#8221; and played a European tour and Riot Fest Chicago that same year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2014, they opened for Rise Against on the US leg of their world tour. Their show in Philadelphia was one of the first concerts I ever went to (I was 15 at the time), and I was amazed by the talent of people who were my age! Since then, the band has released 3 albums (<em>Dark Black Makeup<\/em> (2015), <em>Delicious Noise Rock<\/em> (2016), and <em>No Strange Cats<\/em> (2019)), and gone on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.concertarchives.org\/bands\/radkey\" target=\"_blank\">numerous awesome tours<\/a>. Their latest album, \u201cI Spent the Winter Writing Songs About Getting Better\u201d is an instant classic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The band has toured much of North America and was scheduled to tour Europe this May. They\u2019ve toured with Mat Kerekes (of Citizen), and have played fests such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.concertarchives.org\/concerts\/you-ve-got-a-fest-in-pennsylvania-2020\">You\u2019ve Got a Fest in Pennslyvania<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.concertarchives.org\/concerts\/snowchella-feb944dc-15f4-435f-a9f9-c032a0a5a8c7\">Snowchella<\/a>, and Minechella. Their newest song, \u201cgoin thru it,\u201d was released on February 14, 2020, and is truly relatable (and all around great). Multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Hunter does covers of various popular Rock\/Emo\/Pop Punk songs, but makes them ska. Their two releases currently available on Spotify are <em>Ska Goes Emo, vol. 1<\/em> (on which the first track is \u201cI\u2019m Not Okay (I Promise),\u201d need we say more?) and <em>Pick It The Fuck Up <\/em>(which includes covers of various Counter Intuitive Records bands, such as Prince Daddy &amp; the Hyena and Insignificant Other).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had the opportunity to see Skatune Network not once but twice at last year\u2019s Fest in their hometown. If you haven\u2019t had the chance to see them live yet, you absolutely have to!
