Born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, August 10th 1979, Matt Mays first began touring with the Guthries, later recording his first solo, then joining up with the band El Torpedo (all from N.S.). Mays is well respected for his song-writing skills, and is very big in Atlantic Canada. Recently in 2006’s ECMA (East Coast Music Awards), the band confirmed their new-found following with 5 nominations and 4 wins overall. Mays recorded a self-titled debut in 2002.
