Probably one of the most memorable and coolest concerts I've ever been to. I had emailed the former Elephant 6 band about an interview for our school newspaper prior to the show, to which they agreed. My friend and I showed up and the individual at merchandise told us to meet them across the street at the Goosetown Tavern. Bill Swan and Miles Kurosky were relaxing, drinking a beer before the show, and allowed us to ask a few questions before they went on which was super cool of them. Being two high school seniors looking to meet one of our favorite bands for our school newspaper, it was a dream come true and what's more, they were so cool about it. Once we entered we were told we had to sit up on the balcony away from the band because the lower level was for people 21+. We were bummed and because there weren't many people in the lower the band seemed a bit bummed. That didn't stop us from enjoying a great concert on their last tour promoting "Yoko" as their last album. Eventually, Miles invited everyone on the balcony (since there was a good number of us) to come down and get on stage with them while they performed "Silver Lining." I was able to sing with Miles and play the tambourine. I mean, come on...how awesome is that? Then the management of the Bluebird kicked Beulah off the stage and said they couldn't play the rest of their set because they brought us underage ones down stairs and on the stage. Which was punk as f*ck. Such an awesome time. Thanks, Beulah! You will forever be in my mind and heart for your music and this very memorable experience.
