I was there. I drove my beat up Dodge Coronet with my 3 friends. We had seats in the last row on the floor. I remember standing on my chair for the whole concert. So amazing then so tragic.
This was an amazing show - venue holds about 4k maybe 5k packed. 38 special was a brand new band and played their whole 1st release “self titled” I remember Donnie Van Zant tossing beers into the crowd during the set… Skynyd tore the roof off the place. Sound system was crankin’ They basically played the whole “One more from the road” release. 3months later: 😪😭😢😪
