had a vague but nagging memory about seeing this show: Opener Don McLean performing 'Bye, Bye American Pie" two months before the song was released.
Attendees were quiet & somewhat baffled at what they were hearing. At the end of the song, the crowd applauded & cheered appreciatively, as far as I can remember.
