after the 3 hour drive down to Canberra, our nations capital, we found our lodgings at a very nice tourist park in the hills 10 mins drive from the arena, we sussed out the drive then prepared for our evening.
As we walked inside, we shuffled around te merch stand and we were approached by a vendor selling the BIG ISSUE magazine, signed by Peter Garrett, best $15 we spent, then we went inside and jokingly said to each other, the oils will blow the roof off this dump (explaination soon), our seat were pretty good, but this is not a spectator sport, so we all stood, danced and sang our way through another cracking oils setlist, which included US FORCES, POWER AND THE PASSION, LUCKY COUNRTY AND TRUGANINI. We sang so loud as our hearts sored with each great song belted out by the oils, I actually rang dad during BEDS ARE BURNING so he could listen to the song and our excitement, they also payed tribute to George Young and played SORRY, by the Easybeats, really great rendition. What a fantastic night, followed by the obligitry Maccas run hhhh
So, as we were leaving, the fire alarms were going off and firemen were seen rushing in and pete and I looked at each other as we thought, they going inside to re-attach the roof, as the Oils had blown the roof off..!!!
On the way back to our accomodation, dad called for a report, called me a lucky bastard and we both laughed so hard hhh
