Fenix*TX was formed in Houston, Texas in 1995. The band's original name was Riverfenix but was forced to change the name in 1997 after receiving a cease and desist order from the estate of River Phoenix. In 2002, Fenix*TX broke up due to creative differences between the members. Between 2004 and 2006, the band reunited for several tours, releasing the live album "Purple REigns in Blood" in 2005. In 2009, the band reunited once again, releasing an their second EP (and first as Fenix*TX) "CRE.EP" in 2016.
