What genre of music is Linkin Park?

Linkin Park doesn’t cleanly fit into one genre of music. When the band first started, they had a unique nu metal sound that merged elements of industrial metal, rap rock, and hip hop. As the band matured, they began experimenting with new genres and embraced a much softer and more progressive rock sound. They even embraced a distinctly pop sound with One More Light.

When did Linkin Park start?

Linkin Park was founded in 1996 but didn’t start using the name “Linkin Park” until 1999.

Where did Linkin Park get its name?

In 1996, the band that would become “Linkin Park” started as “Xero.” After Chester Bennington joined in 1999, the band agreed to change the name to “Hybrid Theory.” Record producer Jeff Blue recommended the band change their name in order to avoid confusing themselves with Hybrid, another musical act.

After some consideration, the band settled on “Linkin Park,” an alternately spelled version of what was then Lincoln Park (now Christine Emerson Reed Park) in Santa Monica, California. The band didn’t completely dump the name Hybrid Theory though. Instead the band members used it as the name of their debut album in 2000.

Who wrote Linkin Park songs?

Individual members of Linkin Park are responsible for most of the tracks released. However, they have received help from Rick Rubin, William Griffin, and others.

What is the meaning of the Linkin Park song "What I've Done?"
