McCafferty is a dance punk project, started by Nicholas “Nick” Hartkop as a solo project. Formed in 2012, the band has had a tumultuous history, repeatedly breaking up and rejoining. The most recent break up in 2020 shedded the rest of the original full-band line-up that joined Hartkop, as allegations of abuse from Harktop surfaced from now former band members, who formed their new band Sister Sandy afterwards. As a response to this, McCafferty released the song “Isn’t it beautiful?”.
