Formed in Provo, Utah in 2018, The Backseat Lovers swiftly made their mark on the indie rock scene with the release of their debut EP, "Elevator Days." The band's unique blend of heartfelt lyrics and dynamic melodies gained momentum in 2019 with the release of their breakthrough album, "When We Were Friends." This album featured popular tracks like "Kilby Girl" and "Maple Syrup," each showcasing a knack for creating emotionally-charged anthems. The album earned a spot on the US Billboard 200 chart, affirming the band's growing appeal. The Backseat Lovers saw a significant evolution in their music style with the 2022 release of "Waiting to Spill."
