K.T. Tunstall kicked off #Bourbon&Beyond with a spirited set of classics and great mash-up covers. Marking the beginning of an eclectic lineup of equally fantastic musicians.

In my second encounter with the Wallflowers live I found I was more appreciative. I was sufficiently impressed the first time to buy an album and listening when more familiar with the songs is always a deeper experience. I would complain with a third.

A name I’ve heard forever but whom I’ve never really listened to, Lyle Lovett impressed me with his mix of blues, Blue eyed R&B and country. he’s a great performer and has a fantastic band. A very pleasant experience.

Matchbox Twenty are nothing more than a rock radio vestigial memory for me and weren’t a priority to see but they are good performers and I delighted in their cover of Simple Minds’ Don’t You Forget About Me.

Saw Suzanne Vega do her hit. That was weird. I’ve seen it many times as people around me at a festival are roused out of their stupor and suddenly realize they’ve heard this song. It just doesn’t happen to me very often.

Amanda Shires put out one of my favourite albums of 2022. Under the blistering Kentucky sun her performance gave me chills. Her songs, her voice, her fiddle, her beauty; I was nearly overwhelmed but she inspired me Take It Like A Man
