This show played out rather lackluster for a couple of reasons. The tour (sponsored by Marlboro) was booked at numerous military bases and many of the troops were deployed overseas for Operation Desert Storm, which accounted for the low turn out. Poco was promoting their recent 1979 reunion album "Legacy", but Poco co-founder, Ritchie Furay left the tour early due to his religious convictions. The burden fell on Jim Messina and the late Randy Meisner (1946-2023) to carry on. Supporting were Angel Train, a Massachusetts band that appears to have suffered a brief shelf life. There are some accounts that indicate Poco didn't perform this show on account of rain, but I have no recollection of this show being rained out. It was humid and overcast that day as I recall.
