A Perfect Circle

Epic show with an all star line up featuring Josh Freese, James Iha and Twiggy Ramirez.

Maynard was behind a white screen with only his silhouette visible as he sang the opening refrain from Vanishing. It left everyone wondering if he’d remain obscured for the whole show until the curtain dropped as the beat came in.

They were originally billed on the Big Day Out line up along with Metallica but withdrew after tickets had already gone on sale.

Luckily they didn’t keep us waiting for long and delivered a
much longer and more gripping set than a daylight festival slot could offer.

Maynard was on fire, delivering a better vocal performance than I ever witnessed him perform with tool.

Band was super tight, Billy’s les paul tone was superb and his lead work was on point but I felt that James Iha wasn’t given any room to shine, almost hidden at the back of the stage and adding extra colour more than song defining contributions.

Another show that would make my friends jealous if I actually had any 😉.
