I was there. The concert was: The Animals,
(reformed version) doing "San Francisco Nights," and, of course, "Sky Pilot." They even had a film that they played along with on "Pilot." Blue Cheer Preceded The Animals, doing all their songs from their debut album, Vincebus Eruptum. The Cheer were excellent, backed by their wall of Marshall amps. Sounded like their album... loud and nasty! The opening band was local group, Thackeray Rocke. The venue was at the AZ State Fairgrounds, but not in the Coliseum. Instead, this was nearby at a place called the Exhibition Building, which was where they showed off livestock during the fair. Great show!
