The Moorings forment un quintet ultra énergique, réputé pour exécuter avec brio un folk celtic mélangé à du rock alternatif.
Depuis 2011, le groupe est fidèle aux thèmes du répertoire populaire anglo saxon et a été choisi à plusieurs reprises pour partager l'affiche avec les plus respectés du genre, tels que The Dubliners, The Pogues ou même Dropkick Murphys.
Leur attirance pour la musique traditionnelle irlandaise et le punk se révèle à travers ”Pints & Glory”, premier EP du groupe sorti le 17 octobre 2011. Un album live “La Cigale Unplugged” voit le jour en 2013. Le nouvel EP “Nicky's Detox”, publié à l'automne 2014, fait la part belle à des titres en français.

« Depuis ce festival l'été dernier où nous avons joué pour la première fois avec The Moorings, je suis devenu un grand fan. Ils sont un mélange entre The Pogues, The Dubliners et eux-mêmes. En d'autres termes ils sont uniques, ils ont leur propre son tout en incorporant d'autres influences d'un style Irish/punk. Je vais vous faire une confidence, mon plus grand souhait serait de produire leur album... Nous avons tous des rêves n'est-ce pas ? »

Paddy & The Rats was formed by the singer-songwriter Paddy, Vince (bass) and Joey (electric guitar) in 2008. Then Seamus (drums) joined them and two authentic musicians, Sonny (accordion) and Sam (fiddle, tin whistle, banjo and bagpipe). In spring 2012 Sonny has left the band and Bernie took his place. As for their becoming rats, the six pirate say: punk is the same in music as rats among the animals – dirty and malicious, and they exactly play it. The band is combining pub music with hot and dirty punk rock. To spice up their own songs they use Irish pub music and Celtic features, but you can also feel the mood of the pirates’s and sailors’s world. The band’s first album – Rats On Board – was released in march 2010 by Nordic Records and it’s available on Itunes and Amazone. The Second one is called Hymns for Bastards and it was released in spring 2011. The third one, Tales From The Docks is just came out in december, 2012. Those listening to their music won’t definitely stay sober, because the rolling jig rhythm makes everybody dance and even jump – and get drunk! Most of the lyrics are about drinking and pub stories (Fuck You I’m Drunk, We will fight, Pub’n roll). The last 5 years they had more than 800 gigs. They had sold out club tours in Hungary and took part in many festivals in Germany, Italy, France, Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Ukraine, Serbia, ect. At gigs they play their own s ongswith fiddle, banjo, accordion, bagpipe, whistle – and of course, a lotta rock’n’roll. Their aim is to introduce the crowd to different kinds of pub music and pub culture…
To be more precise: turn the whole world into a pub!
