Common Vision Tour Jul 26, 2015 (8 years ago) Center Stage Atlanta, Georgia, United States
This one got off to a really bad start. The show got moved from the main theater (1050 cap) to the Loft (650 cap) and when we first got there there couldn't have been more than 100 people there. This was kind of a weird tour package plus it definitely didn't help that Slipknot, Lamb of God, BFMV, and MIW were also playing that night. Gatherers was pretty good but just really not my thing. Brigades had van trouble so only their singer and guitarist made the show. It was kinda cool to watch them completely improvise a set around only having two members. Despite all that they still sounded good. Counterparts was fun to watch. I wish I was more into them cause their performance seemed really fun. They were the first band to get a reaction out of the crowd and people were going crazy for them. Hearing Burn as a closer was cool. Real Friends was up next and it was a weird set for them. Firstly Dan's voice was messed up so he wasn't on his A game something he mentioned and apologized for a lot. He handled it pretty well though and didn't sound too bad. Also their crowd was pretty small. I guess there wasn't a lot of crossover between ETID and Real Friends cause the majority of the crowd there was not into their set. Finally it was time for the mighty ETID to take the stage and lay Atlanta to waste. This was my first ETID headlining set so I wasn't really sure what to expect but I had my expectations extremely high and I gotta say…..they absolutely blew my already high expectations away! This was the most energetic, passionate, completely insane set I've ever seen. From the opening notes of We'rewolf to the closing words of Moor ETID had the crowd going ape shit. Ive never witnessed a crowd, that for most of the night was quiet and unenergetic, completely flip a switch and just lose their collective minds. The first 4 songs; which were We'rewolf, Thirst, Decayin, and Underwater Bimbos: was non stop crowd surfing and pile ups. It was amazing! Most bands have to kinda work to get that kinda reaction out of a crowd by calling for pits, crowd surfing, and telling the crowd when to jump but not ETID. The mere presence of them and their performance alone are enough to incite madness out of the crowd. It was powerful to get to watch and be apart of it. Also I got Andy Williams setlist to cap off what was a great night. This show really couldn't have gotten off to a more depressing start but in the end the venue filled up nicely and ETID completely saved the day with what I think will go down as the greatest performance I've ever seen and will ever see.
