ALCEST ANNOUNCEMENT :
On the 15th of January, just before our European run, we will be playing a special warm up show with our friends from CROWN (industrial post-metal). This concert will happen at Grillen in Colmar/France. Some songs from "Shelter" will be performed there for the first time. We hope to see you there!

A L C E S T
Alcest – that is music from another world, a world that is real, but that exists beyond ours and cannot be grasped by our senses. A world where all appearances – trees, glades, streams – emit a pearly light and where a faraway and celestial music fills the air like sweet perfume. A world inhabited by infinitely benevolent and protective beings of light, communicating in a wordless 'language' directly from one soul to another. A world where the soul knows neither pain nor sickness nor sorrow, but is filled with a deep peace and an ineffable bliss. A world that lies 'before' and 'after,' 'beside' and 'behind' our world and the awareness of which stills mankind's fears of death.
Alcest were founded in the year 2000, and with “Le Secret” (2005) and “Souvenirs d’un autre monde” (2007) they established the Post Black Metal / Shoegaze Black Metal / Blackgaze genre. Over the years Alcest made this music popular beyond genre borders, and today they are the protagonists of the music genre they invented.

C R O W N
Hailing from France, C R O W N, are three men and a machine who tune their neutron guitars to the Richter scale, and deliver the sound of a molten universe collapsing. Touching on early Isis, Godflesh, Floor and even Killing Joke, C R O W N explore the depths of slow tempos on their debut album, The One, and their split EP with St Valley through sheer exuberant heaviness.
The trio’s depth-charging guitars and buried melodic tendencies snake around hissing electronics, a tribal / military percussive thwack, and the splashing cymbals of a minimal-yet-completely-effective drum-machine. Their sound is further emboldened by a massive bestial roar, heavy and oppressive, leading to an abyss of nothingness…. Welcome to the dark, spiralling, and obscure experiments of C R O W N.
