44 years ago this evening John Messer and Michael Dean and I saw Dolly Parton at The Great Southeast Music Hall on Piedmont Road in Atlanta where beer was served in buckets and the concert attendees sat on carpeted steps. Tickets were $4.00 - $5.00. I remember one good ol boy who must have had one too many buckets of beer kept yelling "Dolly, I love you!". Dolly, finally put down her guitar and said, " Darlin', I love you too, but you're wrecking my show! ". He apologized. She giggled, told him it was o.k. and went back to singing.
