A night of firsts for me. First time seeing Dropkick Murphys and they did not disappoint. The whole show was just a very positive atmosphere. Coincidentally the last time I was in show with such positive vibes was another Boston band, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, back in the 90s I believe. Pennywise was great to finally see. So weird seeing bands I knew when they were kids, and they are all men now. They did a cover of Fight for Your Right to Party by The Beastie Boys. The opening band was straight from Dublin, Ireland, called The Scratch and they put on a great show. Not sure what kind of drum kit they had but it looked like he was just hitting two mics to a speaker. And when the bass hit, hoooooly, you could feel it through your gut. Great show!
