This will be my first concert at the Foro Independencia, and my third time seeing Elder. They just released a new album, and it’s hot, and I can’t wait to hear them play their new material. I’ll keep you posted, should be interesting. Update: Both opening acts were good, especially Sementales Salvajes, from the city and state of Durango. If this is any indication of the underground scene in Durango, I’m impressed. But I’m not surprised, back in the 60’s and 70’s, Los Dug Dugs from Durango, were one of the first and only Mexican bands out of Durango to record original heavy psych rock, whom I am a fan of. Bury Me In The Desert, a duo of guitar and drums, from Guadalajara were good too. Needless to say, an excellent show. Elder were amazing, and blew me away. I believe they played their newest album, because I didn’t recognize any of the material they performed, which totally kicked ass.
