Unusually for me, I headed out on a Tuesday night to catch my friend Ste's band, Gas Kunst. First on the bill, they smashed it with their brand of garage rock/ post punk. Toe tapping stuff from the word go, that even in such a small venue, generated a mosh pit for a short time. Their new drummer fitted in perfectly, and seemed just as talented and relaxed as the rest of the band. Although only relatively recently formed, the experience of the members was obvious from the start. Promoting their sold out, new, self-titled EP, they played three of the four tracks during their set. Expect to see and hear much more of these guys in the future! In the meantime, have a listen to their EP here: https://rarevitaminrecords.bandc... Second up were the post punk band, Tits Up, who certainly didn't go tits up! More than capably playing an imaginative selection of songs, they were very entertaining, so I shall be following this Northern Irish band from Liverpool with interest. They played everything from their one and only, extremely limited, self released EP, Greatest Tits, during their set, ending with the rocking Get Ya On. Link here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGBu2s77ldc Topping the bill as it was their tour, punk band, Loose Articles, hit the ground running with a particularly fiery performance from their bassist/vocalist, Natalie Wardle. They covered their second EP, Chaos, in full, playing Eggshells at the beginning, Dirty Dick's Food and Ale Emporium in the middle and Chaos towards the end of their set. They dispatched both sides of their single, Up the Disco, very early on, straight after Eggshells in fact. Ending with great version of Lethal Weapon from their Orchid Lounge EP, they gained well deserved applause, but I couldn't help feeling they'd have been better received at a club in Manchester or Liverpool where there would have probably been a more devoted audience. Anyway, here's a link to their new track, Kick Like a Girl" www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeCYLIWg0oY
