Jul 18, 2013 (11 years ago) Albert Hall Manchester, England, United Kingdom
Luminous and lyrical, Alison Goldfrapp held packed houses spellbound for these world-premiere performances of songs from her album Tales of Us, which was released seven weeks after these sell-out shows. With help from the string orchestra from the Royal Northern College of Music, ethereal sounds melted into the shadows of the atmospheric Albert Hall. The encore saw the band accompanied by the RNCM’s choir on some uplifting classics from their back catalogue.
‘Goldfrapp has surely never sung better, every emotional inflection captured by the building’s pin-drop acoustics. Partly lit by the natural light coming through the stained-glass windows… the effect is magical’ The Guardian
