This was my first concert at Winterland. I didn't know what to expect. Winterland was a venue unlike any other......light shows, incense, hippies with beads, wild, free from dancing without partners. I mean, It was quite a spectacle for a straight kid from Burlingame. but the music was profound. Yes, I loved the Airplane, but listening to Muddy Waters sing his Blues songs gave a whole new meaning to the genre. Paul Butterfield Blues band was last on the bill...They gave us a stellar performance from their latest East West album....knocked me out!
