December 30, 1968: Led Zeppelin performed at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. Opening for Vanilla Fudge.
It was Zeppelin's second US gig. They had to drive through a treacherous zero-visibility snowstorm from Dencer for the gig.
John Bonham was also acting as the band's driver for the tour, so he could make extra money to send to his family.
These photos prove from the beginning that Zeppelin/Page had something special that many lacked back then: showmanship.
