MAY 29: LEE MICHAELS, HUMBLE PIE, FANNY at Fillmore East, late show. Fanny, an all girl group, opened and rocked the house. I don’t know if it was the music or the girls performing it that made the hall so responsive, I think it might be both, they were that good. HUMBLE PIE was next and ROCKIN’ THE FILLMORE was recorded then, a classic recording. LEE MICHAELS knew it was over before he hit the stage, he didn’t have a chance. I left early to catch the 3AM train. I walked home from the station.
