I absolutely hate the Doors. Morrison was so wasted & disgusting (humping the mic stand) at this show that the group I was with left before their second set.
This was the final night of the LOVE and Doors' two-and-a-half-week gig at the Whisky a Go Go, August 10-27, in 1966. It's what the poster says, but the Doors were fired on the 21st. Morrison had missed the first show and it wasn't the first time. The band dragged him out of his hotel room, and, still in a drunken stupor, added the obscene lyrics to The End... leading Elmer Valentine to fire the band. Jefferson Airplane was the replacement from August 24-28 with the Turtles (August 27-28. It's unclear if they played with the Airplane the whole five nights).
