The open house was held on a beautiful sunny afternoon on Saturday, September 10, 2011 from noon until 4:00 p.m. Later that evening, the Fire Department, celebrating their 130th anniversary, held their annual Fireman’s Dance. This year it was held at a new location at Fire Station #2, near the Sherburne County fairgrounds. The well-attended dance featured the music of Martin Zellar, who played the music of Neil Diamond, with the opening act of Shane Martin. Many families and supporters of the Elk River Fire Department were in attendance and enjoyed the great music.
