Peter had been chatting to the locals in the bar beforehand and had his audience well sussed out (working class mill town). He walked on with just his guitar, said "This is a song I wrote for Ronald Reagan, it's called "Put Down Your Gun And Let's Talk" and hit the riff. He had us cheering him from then on. Superb gig. Allen Dobb was good too, Canadian guitarist, a bit like the countryish end of Neil Young.
