Concert # 45 for me --- This was just one of many excellent concerts I saw while living in Charlotte. At this show, REO was the Headliner and Fleetwood Mac along with Pat Benatar handled Opening Act duties. Due to the enormonously large fan base each group had, the show was expected to sell out. In addition, the advertised hype on local FM radio suggested the concert be just over 5 hours long! As such, it had a 5PM start time with Pat Benatar taking the stage first and cranking out 9 top hits of hers. After a brief stage change over, the one and only Fleetwood Mac took over for their 17 song set that ran almost 2 hours in length. After a brief intermission and stage change over, REO took the change and pounded out a 15 song set including the closer, "157 Riverside Avenue". In all, 41 songs from 3 iconic bands rocked the 20,000+ crowd this evening. And, although my tickets were Comp'd to me by Coca~Cola, the typical cost of a single ticket was only about $45. Even if I had paid that price, it would've still been a fantastic bargain given the bands I saw that night.
