Finally!, I get to see Russian Circles, a band I’ve heard nothing but good things about. I’ve been wanting to see them for quite awhile, I missed them twice in San Francisco, when I lived in CA. The show is at the C3 Stage in GDL, it’ll be my first time in their VIP Balcony, looking forward to this. To my surprise, according to the C3 Stage website, this is Russian Circles first tour of Mexico. As usual, I’ll keep you posted. Partial update: While standing in line to see Mono, a very cool young man was telling me that Fake Designers is opening/supporting Russian Circles at the C3 Stage. I listened to them on Bandcamp, and yes, Fake Designers are gonna be hot. Looking very much forward to this show. I’ll, as always, will keep you posted. Final update: OMG!, what an incredible evening of Post Rock. Without a doubt, the best show I’ve seen at the C3 Stage to date. And the balcony, let’s just say, I was the first in line to get into the balcony, well worth the wait. I sat right smack in the center, leaning against the railing, with the perfect view, best seat in the house. It reminded me of the best seat at Slim’s (RIP) in San Francisco. I got rocked out, Russian Circles totally kicked ass, and blew me away. The first band A.P.E., were fuckin’ hot too, a psychedelic trio from Monterrey, they too kicked ass. Then Fake Designers came out, wow a Post Rock band from CDMX, they too were great. What an amazing evening of Post Rock bliss. The micro dose of shrooms didn’t hurt either.
