Well here we go. After the last Sammy show we said we would not see him again unless it would be something special, well guess what this is that show. Sammy is playing with his band and then he will be playing with Michael Anthony of Van Halen and they are billing themselves as the other 1/2. Well the show started at 8:00 PM and the opening song was Mass Tequila. Sammy and his band did 11 songs of his solo stuff ending with Heavy Mattel (song list to follow). The next thing that happens is the stage goes dark and then we hear is a loud thumping of a bass at that point Michael Anthony walks out on stage. He dose his bass solo and then goes in to Running with the Devil. The other 1/2 played 6 Van Halen songs the list will follow. After the last Van Halen song everyone came back on stage from Sammy's band, Michael Anthony and they brought out with them one of the Beastie Boys and ended the show with "You got a right for your rights to party" All in all it was a great show and we decided that when Sammy comes around again we will see him. I think the big difference this time is Sammy did not talk about getting drunk and high like he did last time because that turned us off. In the show there were only 3 references to that. The fist one was when they were doing the song Mass Tequila and Sammy had a large Margarita and he flung it in the crowd in our direction, we ducked and we did get hit by a couple drops. The next time was when they did the old Bob Dylan song "Everybody Must Get Stoned" The last time was when he said they had brought 25 cases of Cobo Wabo and they ran out. So other than that it was fine so we will see him again. Here is the Sammy Hagar Set List. Mass Tequila, Go to Mexico, Only One Way To Rock, Everybody Must Get Stoned, The Girl Gets Around, Rock Candy, I'll Take You There, Sam I Am, Little White Lies, I Can't Drive 55 and Heavy Metal. The other 1/2 song list of Van Halen songs are Running With The Devil, Top Of The World, Why Can't This Be Love, Good Enough, Finish What Ya Started and 5150. Assume show we will be going back.
