I was at this Joe Perry Project show on Oct. 4, 1983 at Ripley's Music Hall.
Joe Perry and Joe Pet the bass player played through a wall of stacked Ampeg amplifiers.
Cowboy Mach Bell sang well with high energy. He wore the same striped pirate type shirt with handkerchief around his neck. Joe played Gibson guitars. For all the amps, I didn't think they were that loud, then noticed I couldn't hear for three days afterwards.
After the show, I remember seeing Joe Perry sitting on a staircase with attractive girls surrounding him, but he paid no attention to them. A fan ran up to Joe and said he played just like Jimi Hendrix which set Joe off. He said, "Well, no I can't play like Jimi Hendrix and I don't no anybody can play like Jimi Hendrix." That really impressed me, because Joe was high up in the rock world as a guitarist.
