The Infamous Stringdusters, a progressive bluegrass band, have a notable connection to John Hickenlooper, who served as Mayor of Denver, Governor of Colorado, and is currently a U.S. Senator representing Colorado. This connection centers around Lyons, Colorado, and the band's involvement in a fundraising event following devastating floods in the area.
The Lyons Connection
In 2014, Governor Hickenlooper declared September 13 a statewide day of recognizing flood relief efforts. The Infamous Stringdusters performed at the inaugural Viva Lyons event, which raised money for the CAN'd Aid Foundation's flood relief efforts throughout Colorado. The band also performed at The Oskar Blues Brewery "Craft Brewers Conference" event featuring Hickenlooper.
