Vans presents Bling Fest 2007, Southern California’s largest skateboarding contest and music festival – bringing hundreds of professional and amateur skateboarders from around the world to the city of Rancho Cucamonga on November 17, 2007. Chris Cole, Jamie Thomas and the Zero team will bring the heat at this years Bling Fest event. Andrew “The Boss” Reynolds, Leo Romero, Tony Tave, Chad Muska, Kenny Anderson, Erik Ellington, and many others will also be in town for Bling Fest’s “Hundred Dollar Hammer” session. Over $15,000 dollars in cash and prizes will be handed out this year – including KR3W clothing’s prize of $2,500 for 2007’s Best Trick Contest.
Headlining at Bling Fest 2007 will be Angels and Airwaves (AVA) – guitarist, and singer Tom DeLong formerly of Blink 182, guitarist David Kennedy of Box Car Racer, drummer Atom Willard of Offspring, and bassist Matt Watcher formerly of 30 Seconds to Mars – performing live on the Hurley stage. Opening acts for AVA are Greeley Estates and Confide. New to the Hurley stage is Check My Band a spin off contest of Battle of the Bands in which three local bands will compete on stage for over $5,000 in cash and prizes.
