I had seen John play on Beale 2 years earlier in 1990 in the pouring rain ... no way I was missing this show . We saw him in the Peabody Hotel lobby after that & he visited with us . He signed a couple of 45’s for us there by the fountain where the ducks swim ! This was before the crowds got so huge back in the day . I will never forget how awesome those John Prine shows were ! ❤️🎸

The “old” Lamar . I can’t believe it is 41 years ago now I saw him in 1979 . Can anybody tell me if he played here one other time ... possibly 1977 ? I thought I saw him somewhere in Jackson the same year I saw Alice Cooper in 1975 . Please add a comment if you know if John played anywhere in Jackson previous to this 1979 show that I just added . 🎸😎👍

Right now I am counting I saw him 16 times ... but I may be forgetting a couple . I got to meet him close to a dozen times & even got to hang out with him a few of those times . We saw him last on New Years Eve 2019 @ the Grand Ole Opry ... front row center . The greatest shows that anyone has ever performed . John’s music just got better & better . Can anyone tell me for sure if Prine played the “Jubilee Jam” in 1996 or was it 1997 ? I was there . I had a backstage pass & ended up on the bus w/ just John after that show . That is the year I gave him my old MS license plate that said “PRINE” . (Yes of course I had flag decals all over the back of that Lincoln Towncar). I will never forget some of our conversations . This was the 3rd time I had the good fortune of seeing John Prine ... and it was the night I got to finally meet him . My favorite musician of all time ... and one of the nicest people I ever met . I’ve seen a lot of concerts ... nothing has ever topped seeing John Prine’s shows . 😎🎸😇✌️
John Prine’s music saves my life . He was the best musician I have ever seen . RIP Handsome Johnny ! 🎸😇

Oh yes I was there to see John Prine on July 9th 1979 . I almost got my photo of the ticket added ... I will keep trying . Did John Prine play there one other time ? Possibly 1977 ? Saw him about 20 more times & one final time on New Years Eve 2019 . Keep adding those concerts we went to you animals ! Peace ! 🎸😎
