Great show, I was there the 2nd actual night of the tour, with only the warm up at Toads Place in Ct, and the Aug 31st show at the Vet the dates preceding this. The Vet wasnt really good for concerts, or football or baseball for that matter. It was a synthetic, multi purpose stadium which was all the rage when built in 1971 , but you were too far from the action. And the feel was almost impersonal as compared to smaller, closer venues today. But the Stones rocked, and I remember during Honky Tonk Woman, the large blown up dolls resembling ladies of the night seemed to nod in appreciation of Micks lyrics. Pretty funny. Living Color was a great opening act and the weather was typical Northeast in Sept, very nice with little humidity, which is rare here. All in all a really good show

Best Who show I EVER saw. No frills, no background singers, orchestra ensembles, nothing but the Who, with Townsend finally back on electric guitar. And it w3as the last time Entwistle was alive to play in the Philly area, which makes this show bittersweet for me since I had seen "Da O"5 other times from large stadium shows in 1982, 89 and smaller venues, such as here in 97. This was priceless, a night caught in time frozen, when for one great clear cool night in NJ right over the bridge from Philly, the greatest live band ever, at 55, reached back as if they were 22 years old again. I'll never forget it

I was there, great show, but Townsend gave up the electric guitar and let Simon do the honors, which we hated. It was also a large production, similar to 1996, and some other theatrical shows. My memory of the 1982 show was more satisfying. After all this was a Sunday and had to work the next day ( things changed in 7 years) I had two new guys with me to see the show and it was more sedate, we had a few beers and some hoagies, or Hero Sandwich or Grinder for you out of the area fans. I personally loved the Who scaled back with just the four of them and Townsend on lead but this was a good show and the set list was excellent/

Also, the Hooters were booed off the stage since they were half done their set when we all piled in, due to the early start. Inauspicious start for a really good Philly band, but they survived and were able to thrive later on.
My 2nd concert, I was 20, foot loose and carefree and loving the simple life we had back then, sans the cell phones, I Pads, Tablets, internet etc. I was a big Who freak but loved the Clash and dug Santana, who was really good. The Who put on a great show as usual, but the Clash seemed hurried and not in sync as a group, they soon deteriorated as a group. I remember it was warm for late Sept, maybe high 70s, to 80 with humidity, not unusual for the Northeast. And the whole shows cost 16.50, I have the ticket stub on my hard drive somewhere. You cant even feed yourself for that amount today at the show, although we ate little, had breakfast at home then drank copious amounts of beer, grain alcohol, booze and a little weed, fun times. And made out with my ex girlfriend at the top of the stand during Long Live Rock. Also remember the show was rushed, all groups came out maybe 2 hours earlier than advertised which may have had to do with the previous days' show being cancelled. The groups needed to get moving to the next show I guess. Overall a great day, even if my bud got lost from us looking for an aspirin, and was found about 8 O'clock on the hood of my 1971 Dodge Dart Swinger! lol
