Sinced I was sitting about 15 feet from the front and center of the 2-steps-up stage, this was the most intimate concert setting I’ve ever experienced. A few weeks earlier, I had the privileged treat of being at OBJ one afternoon as the Jerry Miller (Moby Grape) band was rehearsing for a sold-out concert that evening. Wow! (as expressed by MG’s 2nd album)

I framed the shot of Dave Mason and had it hanging on my wall for years before I took the frame apart and scanned it to upload. Great pose; time and exposure to the elements account for its low quality.

Traffic, touring to promote “The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys” album release with a line up of Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood, Rebop Kwaku Baah, Roger Hawkins, and David Hood was spectacular. For the encore (Dear Merlot Fantasy), they brought out Special Guest and original founding member Dave Mason! JJ Cale had his own unannounced concert bonus: his back-up guitarist was Eric Clapton(!), just like on his record release “Naturally”. Jojo Gunne opened the show. They were rowdy and enjoyable, but nearly forgotten after the musical virtuosity of the other bands.
