I had tickets to see The Cult that night with Billy Idol at Madison Square Garden, and the show got cancelled that day because of asbestos found in the ceiling. I then heard on WLIR radio that The Cult announced a last minute gig at The Ritz instead! My best girlfriend and I jumped in a borrowed pickup truck and immediately drove to The Ritz, got tickets, and then waited for hours until the show! Which was amazing! They trashed the stage at the end and I was grazed by the broken tambourine Ian threw out into the audience! We wore bkack stiletto pumps and all-black lace outfits. It was fun getting moved along with the crowd surge as everyone tried to rush the stage several times. I’ll never forget it. What a blast!
