I have never heard of Echo as the druming machine but I do remember that Pete De Freitas was playing the drum in 1984 and he died soon after (motorbike accident ?)

It was wild ! Taking pictures was forbiden, Security would snatch any camera with a flash. Girls were shouting at Holy Johnson as if he was some kind of Beatles… Girls would French kiss boys assuming that any boy attending was gay…
