Now Decairn, how could you have seen a concert that never took place. My ex-wife and I had tickets for this show as she's a ridiculous Radiohead fan. (She's EVEN MORE pretentious than their music - think about that. Doesn't seem possible does it?)
I had purchased them as a birthday present. On the way to Downsview Park we heard about the cancellation. One of the sound production workers that toured with the band was killed accidently during the concert setup. Radiohead decided you cancel the show. This was scheduled you be the last date on their tour so we knew there would be no rescheduled date.
That same evening The Flaming Lips were performing free at Yonge & Dundas Square in the heart of downtown Toronto. We went instead.

Decairn, you never saw this concert.

Well, if you haven't heard about this show, you really should check it out on YouTube. It has become available in it's entirety relatively recently. Liam Gallagher essentially had a drug and alcohol assisted, divorce induced breakdown on stage. This concert was to be recorded for the Oasis live album Familiar To Millions.

Oh, I saw the other listing for this concert date. Gangstarr were most definitely scheduled to play. Along with a band called Nice Cat I believe. I arrived just in time for Rage. So I didn't catch either of them.

I like Rage. They're not my favourite band but I have every album. This show was utterly amazing. Best show I've been to, hands down. They were touring The Battle Of Los Angeles.

Killing In The Name as the final encore caused absolute chaos. During the final altered chorus: F*CK YOU! I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!, the full, standard/venue lighting came on. You were able to see everything. Just insanity. The venue cleared afterward only to stop traffic on Carlton Street outside. Some small groups began lifting parked cars.

I've never encountered that much intensity and emotion in any group of people before or since.
