Circa Waves: 3.25 stars out of 5 MONDAY HANGOVER CURE About two years ago, I treated myself to a Melkweg membership card. Mostly because I come there to often anyway and I get a 10% discount on vinyl. However it also functions as a free ticket to quite a few gigs. One of them being Circa Waves. I had seen Circa Waves perform before (supporting The Wombats) and they surprised me that time, so why not go if I can go for free? So yeah, we went down to the Melkweg. For the first few songs there was something wrong with the sound which meant basically only hearing some bass and drums. However people seemed to enjoy it and my(still hungover from Saturday)self started to get into it as well after the first beer and the second song. They adjusted the sound and it started to actually sound good! However when dancing and enjoying myself I did notice something; they have quite a lot of songs that sound similar. Not Kensington bad, but still. The gig went on and to be honest there seemed to be more variety at the end of the show. Overall they are no expert when it comes to audience interaction and I won’t rush to the store to buy an album of theirs, but they played really well and they sure as hell were a good Monday night hangover cure!

Arctic Monkeys: 5 stars out of 5 FAVOURITE BEST DREAM So yeah basically I have to start my reviews with Arctic Monkeys: They are my all time favourites and yeah fuck. I Wanted to say four stars out of five because love the wordplay, but unfortunately it was five stars out of five. Although most ‘experts’ had some critical points for me it was OUT OF THIS WORLD! It was the first time seeing them play (and only time until now). Not to be dramatic, but I died, came back to live, had a few orgasms, cried and fell in love every five minutes. The guitars, the energy of the older punky songs and the intimate feeling of the newer songs. It was sweaty, it was magical and I can’t wait to see them again! My love for Arctic Monkeys is A Certain Romance that doesn’t leave me cold 😉
