Old Time Rocker's Concert Archive

I’ve been going to concerts since 1970. However, when I retired in 2019, I began working at them in guest services and security positions. Now, I still go to them (a lot more) because I get paid.

Was at both concerts. Prince wearing purple tights put his microphone down his pants and brought it back to his mouth. 2nd song, people threw their food at him. He did the same thing next concert and received same reaction. It was a Stones concert crowd. Had nothing to do with his color, if he would have waited to do that move at the end we/I would have been able to appreciate his talent. Never heard of the guy before.

I went to both of the LA Coliseum shows in October, 1981. I don't remember which day it was, but one of the opening acts was unknown act (at that time), Prince. He was literally booed off the stage. People were throwing tennis shoes, tomatoes, etc. I don't think it was because of his performance, but more likely because the crowd was tired of waiting on the Stones to come out.
