Aysanabee put out one my favourite albums last year, made me cry more than once. It was gratifying that as soon as he opened his mouth, chills.
Fantastic solo but what a treat he has an amazing band. Loved hearing his grandfather’s voice samples at the end

Hollow Coves are the Australian answer to a British band like Mumford making traditional Americana music. It’s pleasant and sourcing, if uninspired.

Beabadoobee is a competent rocker. But nothing that caught my attention.

Tom Odell delivers live. His voice, his long note held for dramatic effect, the piano. He delivers.

Julia Jacklin was a pandemic cancellation. I saw her do a drop-in with Weather Station but was looking forward to a real show finally. Amazingly her voice is better live, warmer & fuller. Also, she rocks surprisingly hard. I love it when it’s worth the wait

A great live set requires great songs but is also a craft unto itself built on timing, pace and shear energy. Like a freight train, Foals are an Unstoppable, kinetic force of rock that slam into you, pick you up for a ride and don’t stop for anything

Japanese Breakfast beams, glows, radiates. She smiles the whole time, her great band include a sax, violin and gong keep it eclectic and fun. Positive energy ebbs from the stage, carried on her fairy voice and flows right back from the crowd.
