Jimmy Cliff (born James Chambers, April 1, 1948 - November 24, 2025) was a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actor from Jamaica. His music continues to influence reggae, ska, and soul musicians to this day. During his life he released dozens of albums and singles, including "Shelter of Your Love", the theme to the 1988 film "Cocktail". For his contribution to Jamaican filming music, he was awarded Jamaica's The Order of Merit in 2003. In 2010, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His final album "Refugees" dropped in 2022 and on November 24, 2025, Jimmy Cliff passed away form pneumonia at the age of 81.
