In an era of hip hop where lyricism has taken a backseat to simplistic staccato flows and passing trends, an emcee like 5th Child comes as a breath of fresh air. Hailing from Jackson, MS, 5th (born Stephen Brown) takes a much more introspective approach to his craft. Rather than replaying the dopeboy tales, club life, and war stories that have become so prevalent in the culture, 5th's subject matter explores the various dimensions of life, love, politics, religion, & music.
