AAPNOOTMIES is ontstaan in het achterkamertje van Dinaira Scheffers, waar zij voor twee jaar heeft geleefd als kluizenaar om de liedjes in haar hoofd via het beeldscherm vast te kunnen leggen in demo’s. Met haar voornamelijk Engelstalige achtergrond, met invloeden als Jónsi, Sigur Rós, James Blake en Bon Iver, heeft ze in die twee jaar de overstap gemaakt van Engels- naar Nederlandstalig en is het avontuur aangegaan om haar moedertaal naar haar smaak te maken.
