Always the Runner was a primarily instrumental band from Louisiana. Comprised of musicians from New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette, the original lineup consisted of guitarist Eric Dills, drummer/vocalist Chad Favre, guitarist/keyboardist Garrett Morley, and bassist/keyboardist Ian Stanford, with Chad Viator later replacing Morley on guitar.
